I’ve often wondered this myself. How come bills aren’t managed in something that allows transparency? Hell, even a souped up Wiki would work, though I suspect that Congress would want something that can handle Word docs or whatever they use to actually write the bills.
One of those mocking, derisive but ultimately silly attacks made by both Giuliani and Palin yesterday had to do with mocking Obama’s time as a community organizers. I’ve read many different posts today defending the work community organizers do but Obama, as you might expect, puts the right perspective on the issue. Steve Benen has more background.

This is dedicated to the Maven 2/Spring/IntelliJ crew at ESPN.com. And, it’s a great talk anyway if you’re moderately interested in Source Control and development processes. It’s good fodder to think about how Open Source differs from internal projects. Could be a cool idea, though, for cross department collaboration (which is essentially open source, right).
