Um, duh. They are the news organization of the Republican party establishment…
The funny thing is that they used a bunch of lines straight from Palin’s Couric interview.
I don’t support Ron Paul, but this is wrong. He should be a part of the debates if Thompson is and, quite frankly, even if Thompson isn’t. His poll numbers are good enough in a race where the leaders are polling in the 20s. And we all know how well he’s fundraising.
Ron Paul raised $4 million yesterday. Yes, I mean yesterday as in just one day. Here’s the chart for how it came in.
That’s unbelievable. It ought to be a lesson for Democrats, btw. Speak clearly and strongly and defend things on principle and people will listen. Ron Paul espouses positions that most Americans wouldn’t agree with, especially if they really listened. Paul is an extreme libertarian with some extreme socially conservative views. Even with that, he’s gaining support from people because he speaks clearly, passionately, and consistently on the major issue of the day, the Iraq War. None of this BS hem-hawing or “reluctant” resignation to the status quo.
Quite frankly, it’s why I support Dodd, because on the Democratic side, he’s the closest we have to Ron Paul’s consistency and honesty. And, added bonus, his policies aren’t nuts.
That’s 2008 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul rocking the iPhone. Wouldn’t have expected that combo in a million years.
Yeah, I think this guy’s strong showing is more telling of how weak the Republican field is. Read the whole handwritten letter he sent out… (via Kevin Drum)
Josh Marshall sums it up best:
It’s sort of obvious now that he said it. But I had not quite thought of it that way. The same people now continually raising the stakes on the price of redeployment from Iraq with increasingly lurid tales of genocide, ethnic cleansing and regional implosion are pretty much exactly the same people who gamed us into this mess in the first place with another bunch of fairy tales.
And WTF is up with Romney? Is this the best Mitt can do:
Please, will a serious Republican step up aside from Ron Paul?
I don’t agree with him on most things, actually, but on the important issues of the day, this is the ONLY Republican who is both consistent and intellectually honest.
