This clip has been making the rounds on the Internet, so odds are you’ve seen it. If you haven’t, you should watch it, preferably in HD at Vimeo. At the very least, click the title of this post to see it full size. :)

The premise is simple: Matthew Harding took a trip to 42 countries to film short clips of him doing a silly dance, sometimes alone, sometimes with lots of local folks, often in beautiful locations. The result is this 4:28 video.

I’m proud to share the fact that this guy is from Connecticut. They don’t call us nutmeggers for nothing.

Update: The song is (called Praan) is available at Amazon’s MP3 store. The web site for the project is, appropriately, wherethehellismatt.com, where there are more videos and maps.

While I think the described deal is insane (Madonna is getting a sweetheart deal), this is the key phrase:

In addition, after an undetermined period, Live Nation would return the rights to albums produced under the deal back to Madonna. Under her current deal with Warner Music, the record label kept control of Madonna’s albums; if she signs with Live Nation, Warner will still retain those works (and Madonna owes Warner one more studio album before she makes any for Live Nation).

This is a key thing for artists that get big. They should own their own catalogs, and the labels, once they’re done promoting the album, should relinquish rights. That just seems fair.

I can’t believe I just bought 2 tracks from iTunes from an iMix named “TRL Top 10.”

The tracks were Dance, Dance by Fall Out Boy (also got Sugar, We’re Goin Down, which I like better) and Hung Up from Madonna’s new album. The stupid track was bugging me because I couldn’t figure out which ABBA song it samples heavily. I thought it was Take a Chance on Me (or the Erasure cover), but the actual track is Gimme!Gimme!Gimme!.

Heidi also bought The Legend Of Johnny Cash today which has been pretty cool. I never really listened to much Cash before, but have enjoyed what I’ve heard so far. Beyond Ring of Fire and Walk the Line, I really liked A Boy Named Sue.
