Finally, after way too freaking long, Buraka Som Sistema has released their latest album, Black Diamond. The song above, Sound of Kuduro is by far the best on the album, but there are some other nice gems on here. MIA is featured on several tracks, and the rhythm is just addicting. I cannot sit still when this is on.

Via Engadget, we find out about a device that allows a paraplegic/crippled cat to move around by pushing buttons. A man built a small robotic platform that the cat can operate by pushing two buttons by the front paws. While I think the device is ingenious, the cat doesn’t exactly look happy strapped into the device. Watch the video and see for y ourself.

The cat also looks disturbingly similar to Cliché, and I know when she meows like that, she’s not a happy camper…

Some of these things are so cheap they are practically disposable.

I just bought a new DVD player. It was twice the cost of the bottle of tequilla that I also bought. Sure, it was a cheap DVD player, but it also wasn’t an expensive bottle of tequilla. The DVD player seems to be fairly full functioned…no obvious corners cut. I bet shipping to have it repaired would be more than the cost of buying a new one.

In the same vein, a new tube for the 20″ TV in our bed room is 50% more than the cost of the TV new…and it says so right in the instructions. It is really amazing how disposable thing really are…even when you don’t think of them that way. What a bizarre reflection on our society. Even high end items are use and toss.

As a side note, I’m not a huge fan of the Jose Cuervo “Tradicional.” I think I prefer the Sauza Hornitos Resposado (or even the Anejo, if available) and it is only $2 a bottle more.
