Is there another person who gets as much ink and TV time as Kristol who has gotten as many things wrong in his political career? I don’t understand how he’s still getting work.
Found this via Brea Grant’s blog. It’s a good song, and the rest of the album is pretty good. You can get the album, Re-arrange Us, on Amazon.com’s MP3 store. No DRM, just plain, high quality MP3 files.
(PS. Don’t forget to watch Brea Grant on Heroes in a few weeks, and check out other books and music she likes over at Coolspotters. And, no, I’ve got no connection to her, business or otherwise. Just a fan since I saw her on Friday Night Lights.)
The funniest quote I’ve read in a while:
Every class has one of those kids who opens his mouth and says what everyone else is thinking. The GOP has Bill Kristol.
“[Obama's] riding a wave of euphoria. She [Clinton] needs to puncture it. The way you puncture euphoria is reality, or to be more blunt, fear. I recommend to Senator Clinton the politics of fear.”
I sincerely promise to stop pointing out that Republicans and terrorists want exactly the same thing (you, scared sh**less) as soon as it stops being so blatantly true.
So true. So, America, do we want to stop being afraid? Turn your state blue if you do.
Oh, joy. This comment attached to the HuffPo post sums up my view of this one:
My concern with NYT hiring Kristol is not that he’s neo-conservative or whatever, but that he’s almost always wrong. Seriously, can anyone on HuffPo name a major columnist/commentator who over the last 6 years has been wrong more times on major issues than Bill Kristol?
No, I can’t. Can you?
I didn’t know which title to go with, so I chose both. That permalink should be AWESOME.
Anyway, by way of Atrios, I found a blog post by Andrew Sullivan that takes a look at Bill Kristol’s latest at the Weekly Standard. Take a look, it’s worth reading.
Message to Bill Kristol: Policy around the Iraq war isn’t about winning a political battle. Please stop talking about it as such. Most critics, Democrats in Congress included, would shut up about war policy if we believed that the policy was sound. And, using military metaphors about political machinations while talking about war policy is absurd. You’re not a soldier nor are you sacrificing anything aside from your reputation. Join Fouad Ajami in the remedial metaphors class. Thanks.
Bill Kristol doesn’t deserve to be listened to anymore. How completely disingenuous can he be and still live with himself?
