I hope it’s not as bad as they’re predicting, though the refinements and accuracy of the forecasting models make that hope feel naive. I hope everyone down there gets somewhere safe by the time the storm finally comes ashore.

I’m also hoping that FEMA has their act together this time. At least the federal government seems to be taking this seriously this time. If it’s going to be a stronger storm than Katrina at landfall, they’re going to need to be on the ball.
