This sounds like a bad idea, especially considering the relative cost of VOA’s service vs. the boondoggle that have been Alhurra and Sawa. ProPublica did a longer piece on how those two services, in typical Bush fashion, have been working against our interests in the Middle East because of mismanagement and poor oversight.

Faced with a choice between VOA and the more expensive Alhurra and Sawa, I’d be inclined to choose VOA based on what I’ve read so far.
