So, McCain wants to “fix” a program he actually doesn’t understand…

So, is this ignorance of the “I don’t know much about the economy” variety, or a lie intended to mislead Americans? Watch the video, and understand that what McCain describes as a “disgrace” is how the program is designed to work. There’s no “mortgaging” of the future, at least not in the mechanism he describes.

If he were talking about the Social Security Trust Fund, set up under Reagan, then maybe he’d have a leg to stand on (heavy spin vs. lying/ignorance), but even that is working as designed, except that Bush hasn’t been able to keep from spending that as general funds.
