I’ve gone back and forth between Safari and Firefox for some time now. At work, we use both, along with IE, of course, but Safari is currently my primary browser. I’ve stayed with it because, for the most part, it’s just so much faster than Firefox at everything. Firefox gives a more predictable browsing experience (though Safari is more or less the same now), but Safari always blew it away in pure speed.
Not anymore. Firefox 3 RC1 simply blows it out of the water. Granted, I don’t have every extension installed that I used to (I miss you, Bauhaus theme), but it is so fast right now. It’s so fast that it almost feels like elements on the page are stumbling over themselves to render as fast as they can. I’m on a Mac, just FYI.

Heads up. No ‘Firebug’ support yet. Boo!! ‘Live HTTP Headers’ is supported but the ‘Akamai Headers’ plugin that works with ‘Live HTTP Headers’ is not supported.
It’s fast though.

The Firebug 1.1 beta works, though has some bugs. You can get it at http://www.getfirebug.com .

Cool cool. Doesn’t box in what you are ‘inspecting’ though. Cool nonetheless. Thanks for the tip.
