Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.

I think this is a pretty typical reaction from Obama supporters. We get told we’re faint-hearted, or misogynists, or naive or stupid, or any number of other names because we think Clinton doesn’t have a shot at the nomination.

This is what I’m afraid of. Here’s a woman who supported Emily’s List for 16 years - and now doesn’t - over views on the Democratic primaries. I hope there’s enough time to heal this kind of thing come November.

I should clarify that I don’t think ending support for organizations like Emily’s list is typical, just that getting annoyed at being told we’re naive, stupid, etc.
