This is one area where Democrats really aren’t that different from Republicans. IP laws are already too strong, we don’t need them to be stronger. The PRO-IP act is a sham and a gift to corporations rather than any boon to creativity, musicians, artists, and writers.

Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.

I continue to be astounded as civil liberties are stripped away one at a time…

Me, Too. I think the celebrities want us out of their lives and let the North American Union to come into effect. Celebrities are false gods and people are falling into their trance just to do whatever they want them to do by putting subliminal messages into their CDs. You can reverse the song and it will give you a satanic message. But back to this bill, civilians who support this bill have notice that their Second Amendment rights is going to be taken away by putting excessive copyright infringement fines. I urge everyone to contact their State senator and tell him/her to oppose the senate version of this bill.
