This is from the “My Better” campaign. Good stuff. Track is available on iTunes. No luck on Amazon MP3.
Update: I have more on the song and this commercial in this follow on post.
Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.

THANK you! It made me so sick when I saw this…. like I just lost the last few years of my life to music that once was so inspiring and now is officially bogus.

For those complaining about Saul Williams selling out, he (or someone that looks like him on his web site) addresses the questions head on:
http://www.saulwilliams.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=002640;p=5
I’m not sure I like all of his answers, but he’s pretty direct about it.

Get over it. Its a great commercial. Maybe you should put it on your iPod and go outside for once. Get a workout in while your at it - with a fresh pair of Nikes on I might add.
