Man, that was some finish! After a really boring game for 3 quarters, the final 10 minutes were un-freaking-believable.
I’m glad that Brady got shut down. He showed, once again, that even a little bit of pressure in his face will make him an average quarterback. He also showed that he doesn’t have the arm to throw to Moss. That last deep play where the ball went off of Moss’s hands… another yard further on the throw and Moss is home free, TD, Pats win. Tom Terrific is human after all.
He’s still a great QB, and the 2007 Pats will go down as one of the best teams in history. Let’s be honest though. The defense was overrated. The offense was the difference, but the Giants blitzing scheme was a great match for it. After watching the Eagles nearly pull of the upset of the century, I had the Giants circled as the only team that could shut down the Brady/Moss offense.
Even then, though, I thought the Pats had this one in the bag. Never would’ve predicted a Giants win.
Another thing: that catch by David Tyree after Manning somehow escaped the Pats rush… man, that’s why I watch sports. Great finish. Congrats New York Giants!
BTW, did anyone see Tom Brady congratulate Eli Manning after the game? Or was he still a classless jerk at the end?

That game was awesome…. Tyree deserved the MVP…. TD and the biggest catch of his career gave them the opportunity to win the game:
by the way, 18-oh no!!! at RMTJ: http://www.riddlemethisjishman.com/?p=1191
IMHO, This is the greatest monumental collapse of any sports franchise ever!!!
and as a Giants fan, I Love It!!!

I eagerly awaited a post knowing how you feel about the Pats. I have to congratulate you. You took the high road. Good win by the Giants. Congrats to them. Beli-cheat is a surly pr*ck. He is both a source of pride and embarrassment to Pat fans. Brady was all class though. I don’t know where you got that. Why the hatred of Brady?

Sorry one more. Brady can throw the ball 70+ yards. Of all the articles I have ever read no one has questioned his arm strength. Seriously!? Arm strength. What are you talking about? Did you see the last two throws? Did you hear Aikman comment on his arm strength. Ugh.

I’m sure Brady can throw the ball far… all NFL QBs can throw it pretty far. He has to sail his deep passes, though, and he doesn’t have the arm of an Elway, Culpepper, or even McNabb. Those guys can throw a rope 60 yards, not a deep floater. Look, any time Moss has to slow down considerably is a problem, and Brady has to sail the ball… it takes FOREVER to get down field, and Moss has to slow up, which means the DBs are on him. Just watch that replay. Moss was clear and gone but the throw wasn’t there.
Moss probably has to slow down for every QB, but the fact that Brady has to have a lot of arc means he’s less suited for Moss. His arm strength was one of the reasons he didn’t do well in the draft, so let’s not get carried away defending him. I’m not saying he’s got a weak arm, just that he’s not perfect for Moss.

I was far to busy pulling my jaw off the floor when Belichick left the field with one second left to notice if Brady congratulated Manning. Someone one the Giant’s defense should have gotten the MVP. Their pass rush really rattled Brady and kept him from being the play maker.

I’m not sure if you saw it, but Belichick did congratulate Tom Coughlin at the end of the game. They all flooded out on the field because they thought the game was over, and he gave Coughlin a big hug and said something to him. If you saw it, then sorry.
I don’t really like Belichick much as a coach (his style, not his talent), but he didn’t storm off without congratulating the other team. I did read that he and Brady didn’t give the GIants any credit in their press conferences. I’m with you, I think the Giants D is the reason they won that game. The Giants should send a small thank you note to Jim Johnson.
