He’s right, she’s not getting a fair shake. While I would prefer one of her opponents to win the nomination, she is both qualified and an infinitely more reasonable person than any of the Republicans she would potentially face. She has a right to be frustrated in large part because no matter what she does, people judge her according to their internal story line about her. I’m no Clinton fan, but it’s clear she cares about certain issues and she cares about governing. This burst of passion during the debate shows that she gives a crap. Would that our current President showed a similar interest in governing or, well, any passion outside of defending how right he is and has always been.

Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.
