Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.

He is easily the worst candidate amongst the Republicans. And that’s saying something… this isn’t a surprise. He’s flipped on every other issue he supposedly cares about to get the nomination.
I’ll post another article about him later…

one of my friends was just on the local NYC channel (NY1) going on at length on his flipflopping nature as evidenced by the red sox comment

Anything that keeps him from getting elected is fine by me. Ironic, of course, since a Republican in the general election couldn’t win Massachusetts but really needs to hold Colorado.
Says something about his strategy, i.e. he’s only focused on the nomination.
