One of the weirder debates at my old job was moving from Ant to Maven. I always looked at it as way, way, way more complexity for marginal gains. That being said, Buildr looks good and I’ll be looking into it for my Java projects. Maven 2 was, by far, the most annoying thing about learning Appfuse.

Seriously, this video is pretty much the ideal response to the whole thing. McCain’s campaign ought to be embarrassed, and the rest of us can laugh at both his campaign and Paris’s response.
(of course it is Paris Hilton, and she gets the details of the energy policy wrong… drilling wouldn’t carry us over because it would take 5-10 years before any of that oil actually entered the market)

I’m sorry you don’t like that we’re using Maven for AppFuse 2.0. For better or worse, Maven has has made it much easier to maintain and release the project itself.

It’s not really a criticism of Appfuse… I understand why the project needs something like Maven. I just think Maven itself is too dense, but then again… maybe I am.
