I've been meaning to write more about this issue, but it's complicated and the sheer volume of crap from both sides makes writing a simple explanation tough. Lots of fear from the blog side of the debate. Lots of hollow claims and more fear from the telecom industries.
Whenever a tough issue like this surfaces, though, you can count on Jon Stewart to clear it up for you. And make fun of everyone.
You can read more about Net Neutrality at Wikipedia. More on the bill passed by the House to ban online gambling (except for horseracing) at MSNBC.

LEAVE THE INTERNET UNREGULATED!!!!!!!!!
What people in this debate so often forget, while in the rush to over regulate and rre-establish puritanical doctrine in this country, is that the rest of the world is impacted by what we choose to do here.
If we outlaw gambling, then can the Chinese outlaw internet religious organizations?
If we set up a new net address for gambling sites, like “.gam” will we then be called upon to determine which sites get those and which don’t? Are other countries alowed to do the same? Who will run ICANN?-that debate will be brought back.
Will we prosecute Americans for using offshore accounts to gamble online on sites hosted in other countries?
Will this make us international police, trying to stop our citizens from engaging in gambling world wide? Will holds be placed on accounts?
My suggestions and questions may seem improbable, but we do have to look at the repurcussions as well as the bennefits.
Are we saving people from themselves, or destroying one of the last free forums for human exchange by opening a Pandora’s Box of regulation?
