I'm quickly reaching the point where I always try to stay in a Kimpton Group hotel, a W, or a Westin. Sofitel and Metropolitan hotels are ok as well. I had to stay in a Hilton in Chicago last week, and *hated* it. One nice thing is that the Kimpton Group will keep track of how often you stay with them and will give you automatic upgrades, late check outs, and a bottle of wine on subsequent stays.
