Reason Magazine is running a feature where columnists/editors/pundits are asked whether their view on going to war in Iraq has changed over the past three years. This was, by far, my favorite answer to the question “Did you support the invasion of Iraq?”:
No. Hayek does not stop at the water’s edge. What the hawks proposed to do to Iraq was just the foreign policy version of central planning and likely to work as well.
Sounds about right. I’m not sure what timeline makes reengineering a society seem reasonable, by the way. The rest of the responses are interesting, so check it out.
