Thank heavens for baseball. I love the sport and am glad it is back.

It has to be understood that I don’t “follow” baseball. I just like watching games. Any game, any time. Although I do pay special attention to the watching Red Sox games. I was glad to see that the Tigers actually won today. Magic number is now 151. But, since my source for free tickets has dried up, I don’t care quite as much about Tigers. Anyway, I digress. I just like watching a good baseball game and I often don’t care who wins and what the stats are. But, like I said, I do pay a bit more attention to the BoSox.

The thing is, I was watching ESPN and I heard a lot of familiar names…Red Sox names. And they weren’t talking in the context of the BoSox. I know that “he who is now dead to me” went to the Yankees, but it seems that quite a few other people seem to have left too.

WHO IS STILL A RED SOX? I see that Tim Wakefield still is…but Mirabelli isn’t, so I guess he won’t pitch much. “D-Lowe” is gone and I’ll miss him. Now there is JT Snow? Coco Crisp? Mike Lowell? Josh Bard? Mark Loretta? Who are these people (ok, I know who they are…they just aren’t Red Sox…well they are, but they aren’t the right Red Sox). WHERE ARE MY RED SOX? I want MY Red Sox.

Hopefully Manny and Papi will still be there when the BoSox pass this way.

I’m also glad that the BoSox won and that Schilling pitched well.
