The one nice thing about staying at a Disney resort, even for work, is that they leave chocolates in your room when they come to turn down the bed. It’s really nice to come back to a little bit of dessert. Also, Disneyland is very close to the Anaheim sports complexes, which makes it convenient to get out to a ball game or hockey game (which we did tonight) without spending an hour on the freeway trying to get somewhere.
The last time I was out this way for a Disney work thing, it was my orientation at the Disney studios in Burbank. The first evening after orientation was over, I drove from Burbank down to Anaheim for an Angels game. That time I had to drive across LA north to south during rush hour which absolutely sucked. Seriously, we’re talking at least a couple of hours to go like 40 miles. And I was going against the rush hour traffic for part of the ride.
I can’t imagine how people live out here and work in the city. The subway line doesn’t seem to cover enough and it sure doesn’t feel like enough people ride the commuter rail system.
