Is there anything more annoying than commercials before kickoffs, then the kickoff, then commercials on change of possession, then 3 and out, then more commercials right after the punt? I would argue no.
This clip has been making the rounds on the Internet, so odds are you’ve seen it. If you haven’t, you should watch it, preferably in HD at Vimeo. At the very least, click the title of this post to see it full size.
The premise is simple: Matthew Harding took a trip to 42 countries to film short clips of him doing a silly dance, sometimes alone, sometimes with lots of local folks, often in beautiful locations. The result is this 4:28 video.
I’m proud to share the fact that this guy is from Connecticut. They don’t call us nutmeggers for nothing.
Update: The song is (called Praan) is available at Amazon’s MP3 store. The web site for the project is, appropriately, wherethehellismatt.com, where there are more videos and maps.

Forget the three-and-out. At least there are three plays!
Touchdown.
Commercials. Kickoff. Commercials.
That’s a lot of commercials! Six minutes of the 6:10 that goes on.

It’s why I just watch FantasyCast and the live FFL boxscore on ESPN.com. Not just because I work there, but because I can watch everything going on at once…

OK, that’s not exactly true… I’d prefer being at work where I could watch several games on TV at once, so barring being at ESPN or having NFL Sunday Ticket, I prefer “watching” online.

I was about thiiiiiiiiiis close to taking my laptop and going to a sports bar just to watch the Jets game….then I remembered it was the Jets and was (secretly) hoping they’d lose. Man, talk about a team that just can’t make the plays when they have to.
On a similar hand, is it weird that LaDanian Tomlinson has as many touchdown passes as Brooks Bollinger (3)?

Yes there is - the fact that those last 2 min. of any game take about an hour.
Only 2 months or so until Spring Training!

Sorry to tell you, you still have 8 more weeks of football before that is even a glimmer. Plus, you live in Detroit, so that’s like twice as long.

And Detroit has the Super Bowl. Even as the Lions front office drops like flies, you still need to watch out for traffic and chaos until you come East for the Super Bowl. Are you coming East?

We may come out, depending on whether or not Bram has to stay local. He’s off but we are not sure if they are going to want extra ER people around. If not for Superbowl, we will prbably still come to both NYC and Boston in Feb. at some point.
I am not sure who thought the Superbowl in Michigan in Feb. was such a good idea. And Detroit, well that’s a whole ‘nother story.

I can hardly wait for Sports Guy to come in and spend his entire weekend gambling. At least Detroit opened some casinos, so he doesn’t have to cross the border drunk.
