I’m starting to understand why non-native New Yorkers hate the football coverage here. I’m watching the Jets and Raiders play the “Can’t have Reggie Bush, but at least you get the third pick” Bowl. These teams have 6 wins combined.
Clearly, CBS will show the local home game, so we can’t see Colts-Jaguars (21 wins). But why on earth can’t Fox show Bears-Steelers (16 wins) or Panthers-Buccaneers (17 wins)?
As I prepare myself for the Eagles to lose to the Giants (give the points), I’m heartened that Dallas-KC will be on CBS. Do you think they’ll cut the Jets-Raiders short, or do you think they learned their lesson the last time?

Technical Difficulties presenting the Jets game. We take you to the Browns-Bengals* game, already in progress.

This game is the worst possible scenario for me. I can’t root for the Jets, because I want them to get a good pick in the draft (right arm up), but I REFUSE to root for Oakland. That’s like a Red Sox fan rooting for Mariano Rivera or Steve Jobs rooting for Microsoft. Just can’t do it.
And you know the Jets will win this game just to make sure that they don’t get Bush, Leinart OR D’Brickshaw Furgeson.
In an interesting sidenote, however, I asked my friend who works for the JEts if they put bars on the windows to make sure no one jumps. He laughed and told me actually all the windows had been sealed since August. (Think they knew something even back then?)
