I was reading the comments of a Volokh Conpiracy post when I saw a name I recognized, a girl I knew from a summer program during high school. Didn’t really date her, more like a middle school pseudo-going-steady thing that went south quickly. So, curious whether she had become a lawyer, I hit Google… Where I found out that she’s on The Apprentice.

Google is sort of dangerous that way… people you rightfully should forget about are a few mouse clicks away. In Toral’s case, I’ve found out that she’s rich, was in a Bollywood movie, and thinks of herself as a success. And, uh, she hasn’t changed at all since I knew her. Super competitive, hyper concerned about her image, and very hard to get to know. Judging from the comments on the forums, she’s pretty much the same now, with money.

It’s just kinda weird seeing the face on the NBC web site. Nothing like seeing a face from the past, especially a girl you liked when you were a kid to bring back all those awkward memories. I wonder if others have Google-induced, “Oh God, I was such a dork back then” moments… it’s not really about Toral, per se, but just remembering how immature I was in high school when it came to women. Nothing like having religious parents and not really dating until very late in high school (in secret) to create stupid moments with girls. And nothing like Google to help you remember them.

Some day if you get me to drink enough, I can share them with you. Course, I’d love to see you get me to drink enough… religious parents, you know. ;)
