6.) Salisbury Hill by Love Seed Mama Jump (obviously a cover)
7.) Please Tell Me Why by Lit
8.) Holiday by Green Day
9.) Send Me on My Way by Rusted Root
10.) Only the Good die Young by Billy Joel
11.) Sexual Healing by Jules
12.) Wordplay by Jason Mraz

1) Janie’s Got a Gun by Aerosmith?
2) Steal My Sunshine by Citizen Kane/King? I forget which one…
3) Dance with my Father again by Luther Vandross? (sappy song for the ladies… Natalie might like it)
4) Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield?
5) Bright Lights by Matchbox Twenty?
and/or:
6) Stroke It By Clarence Carter
http://www.80smusiclyrics.com/artists/clarencecarter.htm definitely Stroke It by Clarence Carter… It has a beat and you can dance to it… and it’s provacative… Maybe JENNY AFFLECK will come back to you…

I almost forgot….the all time classic song written by Jimmy Buffett:
7) The I-95 Song (for the Lyrics… go look it up… commonly referred to as the A****** Song

Is there supposed to be a theme?
Right now I’m particularly fond of “Private Conversation” by Lyle Lovett (yeah, yeah, I know, but it’s *good*). “My Favorite Mistake” by Sheryl Crow is also ranking up there right now. “Send Your Love” by Sting.
To go with the “Meet Virginia” and “I-95 Song” theme, how about “Oh Virginia” by Blessed Union of Souls?
And you’re kinda lacking in the female singers department. How about some 10,000 Maniacs, No Doubt, Ani DiFranco or Tori Amos? (Although I *love* “London Rain.”) Also, no Beatles or Radiohead? Sacrilege.
“The Geeks Get the Girls” by American HiFi is catchy.
…
I’ll stop boring everybody with the contents of my iPod now.

Oh, and Beth Orton, too!!!

Instead of Wordplay, I’d really wanted Geek in the Pink off Jason Mraz’s new album, but couldn’t bring myself to put it on there.
The person for whom I’m making this doesn’t like the Beatles, and I’m not a fan of Radiohead, No Doubt, Ani DiFranco (too angry) or Tori Amos. I could maybe do some 10,000 Maniacs or Lara Fabian, even.

Not even older Radiohead? While I’ve been turned off by the “experimental” Radiohead, still love me some “High & Dry,” “Fake Plastic Trees” and “Creep.” And not all Ani is too angry. Just a large percentage.
And Paul Simon! (As “Crazy Love” comes on the iPod…)
“Everlong” by Foo Fighters is a damn catchy song. As is “DizKneeLand” by Dada.
If you like Lara Fabian (Dawson’s Creek sountrack? Explains “London Rain”…), have you checked out Respond Vol. 1? “Weatherman” by Kris Delmhorst is a great song.

Yeah, that’s how I found London Rain, but I’ve been listening to Lara Fabian since her first album (self distributed) about 7 years ago at the radio station where I worked.
Now, Paul Simon is a possibility on the other hand. You need to go see Love Seed if they’re at a bar near you. They do an AWESOME cover of Late in the Evening/the Boxer. Plus, a ska version of In Your Eyes that’s just great. Most of their stuff is good, in fact.

Hmmm. Looks like they’ll be in Herndon in September. Thanks for the heads up.

I’ll trust that that’s close to you.
Actually, if you can, listen to their version of Domino too. Just really good stuff.

Oh! For another female singer, how about something by Dar Williams? (Sorry, “I Had No Right” just came on the iPod… and I’m desparately avoiding editing my jury instructions.)

Actually, Kelly Clarkson does a good song from the Love Actually soundtrack, called “The trouble with love is.” And, I’m amazed you didn’t mention the Indigo Girls or Sarah Maclaughlin.

Burnt myself out on IG in college. Sarah for some reason has been out of the CD changer for several years now. But might need to add her back in.
And Kelly Clarkson?!?!

Yeah, I get that alot. The sountrack from Love, Actually happened to be a really good one. There’s a Wyclef Song on there, this good KC track. Norah Jones had a track on there too.
Re: Sarah Mclachlan — two of my female friends said that while her recent albums haven’t been bad, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy and Surfacing were the best. (I wouldn’t really know though)
