Or do the Pistons just look like they don’t even want to try to win the game tonight? I usually love watching the Pistons because they play defense so well. In particular, I love seeing how fast they close on the open guy so that rarely, if ever, does an opponent get an open, unchallenged shot. Tonight, though, they’re just watching the Spurs’ outside shooters… literally, just watching them. I don’t get it.

Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.

Plus, as I’ve complained about before, the refereeing is completely up and down. I have never seen such inconsistent and controversial refereeing as on tonight’s game. This is pathetic.
Its really no wonder people get bored watching the NBA.

did you see Mark Cuban’s post about the refereeing? He actually seems to like it (at least prior to today): http://www.blogmaverick.com/entry/1234000207046340/

It’s a sad day for Detroit.
But we will rally!
I’m not really an NBA fan but it is hard not to root for the home team. My other option is the Tigers and well, they aren’t that good.
