1. On the Media is the best news show on NPR. So, why does evil Michgian Public Radio put them on at 7 am on Saturday morning? Yet Prairie Home Companion is on from 6-8pm on Saturdays and 1-3 on Sundays. The same episode! WHY? PHC is everything that NPR deservedly gets mocked for, and rightfully so.

2. At Target today, I lost Bram in the toy aisles. Not shocking, I can see you all saying. I also lost him in Home Depot, but lost husbands are probably really common there. Anyway, I walked down the Barbie aisle and I was horrified. I played with Barbies as a little girl. I adored Barbie. Had TONS of Barbie stuff. But where are the Barbie role models of my childhood? I had Astronaut Barbie. There was Doctor Barbie, Executive Barbie, even President Barbie. Do you know what you can buy now? American Idol Barbie, Bride Barbie, Fairy Barbie, Cali Girl [surfer] Barbie, Barbie in a kitchen wearing an apron and cooking. I am seriously considering becoming one of those crazy anti-Barbie moms if we have a girl.

2a. BTW, I found Bram playing with all the trucks that light up and make sounds, so I think I’m doomed either way.
