Okay good. The reason I was saying this is that I've tried connecting to two different coffee shop Wifi's and been unable to (although at a third coffee shop, I was able to). My Nintendo DS has no problems connecting to these websites.

however, after I updated my PSP, I was able to connect at a few places that I wasn't able to before I upgraded.

MIchael, that's not true. The PSP can use free WiFi spots because most of them have no security enabled. Most users here are having trouble with locked down networks, as many routers these days are coming with some security enabled out of the box.

So, am I right to assume then that the PSP can't just pick up free Wifi spots because of this problem? How disappointing!

I had problems connecting my sons PSP also... I was recieving the error code 80410D07. I found this site and followed Eric's suggestion(#8 above) (I have a Linksys WRT54g Ver2.0) I changed the router settings from g to mixed. In order to access the settings your product must be registered and you have to go on line to Linksys (well I did anyway). As soon as I changed it to Mixed I was in!

Peter the H Said: "I was told to enter it as Hex code, but when entering it in the PSP, I don’t know what format it has. Perhaps it is just the wrong format."

I have WEP enabled on my wireless network and the PSP works fine. Just enter the Hex WEP Key with no spaces e.g. 123456789ABCD.

Cheers.

Hi all

I don't know how much this'll help, but I had a similar problem. I've got a D-Link 714P+ wireless router and I just couldn't get my PSP WLAN to work.
But somehow it finally managed it. My PSP software is 2.0 BTW. By turning off all forms of WEP encryption (you have to turn off WEP under Wireless -> Home as well as under Wireless -> Home 802.1X) AND deleting the WEP key. Not until then did my WLAN work.
I entered the SSID, scanned for WEP encryption to verify that it was turned off, entered "Easy" IP configuration and then it just plinged through.

I SUSPECT, though it is just a suspicion, that the problem lies in the WEP key. When entering it in the D-Link 714P+ Wizard, I was told to enter it as Hex code, but when entering it in the PSP, I don't know what format it has. Perhaps it is just the wrong format.

Anyway, to ensure security, turn ON your MAC filtering so that only your PSP (and other "safe computers") are allowed on the intranet. I think its good to turn the WEP key encryption back on once your'e done with the PSP to max you security.

Any questions, donät hesitat to mail me:

peter.harlid@glocalnet.net

and I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my limited knowledge

Hi all

I don’t know how much this’ll help, but I had a similar problem. I’ve got a D-Link 714P+ wireless router and I just couldn’t get my PSP WLAN to work.
I entered the SSID, scanned for WEP encryption to verify that it was turned off, entered “Easy” IP configuration and then it just plinged through.

I SUSPECT, though it is just a suspicion, that the problem lies in the WEP key. When entering it in the D-Link 714P+ Wizard, I was told to enter it as Hex code, but when entering it in the PSP, I don’t know what format it has. Perhaps it is just the wrong format.

Anyway, to ensure security, turn ON your MAC filtering so that only your PSP (and other “safe computers”) are allowed on the intranet. I think its good to turn the WEP key encryption back on once your’e done with the PSP to max you security.

Any questions, donät hesitat to mail me:

I have a NETGAR router and get the 80410D007 and cannot figure out where on the router I change the settings like it recommended for both?

I am still confused on what I need to do on the PSP since its finds my home router using SCAN yet I still get connection error problems.

the psp needs its own IP address, but you should really just let it happen automatically. I actually have the same router and I had it work with the automatic settings.

Ok ive read so many of theses suggestions on forums but am not getting anywhere with my psp. Im getting the 80410D09 problem like many of you other people. i have a D-Link DI-624 wireless B router. Im clueless on how to get this to work properly. I have no encryption on the SSID,i have scan for the SSID and easily find the WAN,i havent really messed with any of the router settings because its already a B router to begin with, id like to try and put all the IP addresses in manually instead of doing it on auto but i dont know what IPs to put in the PSP. WHen it asks for IP address do i put in the computer IP or does the PSP have its own IP addess? Any suggestions would help. you could either respond here or email me at Dyno583@onlyinternet.net
