Please stop making Dream Job!
Thoughts on this season of Dream Job:
1.) The Contestants — Darrell Dawkins, Dee Brown, Matt Bullard, Gerald Wilkins, JR Reid — Alright, between them, they have 1 championship ring. Now, in and of itself, I wouldn’t think that was a big deal, but on their respective team, Darrell Dawkins was the most well-known player, and that was from 20-plus years ago! I know these guys, but I’m also a big NBA fan (insert jokes here).
Moreover, none of these guys were intelligible or intelligent! I could barely understand Dawkins or Brown without Closed Captioning. Wilkins acted like a Robot with a Southern Drawl. Bullard, arguably the most intelligent of all of them, was also the most boring, and that’s saying something (YOU HEAR THAT, Chocolate Thunder (aka Darrell Dawkins)?!) They are terrible. It was better when it was a bunch of soon-to-be and recent college grads. Please stop!
2.) Stu, just stop — You’re really talented on SportsCenter. You were hired to do that. Not host a crappy satire of itself. The first one was good. You should have stopped there. Done your best David Caruso and gotten out after the first season.
3.) Woody Paige/Kit Hoover — STOP! Woody, you’re not funny. You’ve got some good things to say, and you have a TON of experience as a journalist, so you have a place here. But Kit Hoover? KIT HOOVER?!?! Claim to fame being … Right, exactly! Here is her bio off the Cold Pizza Web page (arguably, the worst morning show this side of anything on FOX:
KIT HOOVER, Host:
Kit made her TV debut during the inaugural season of MTV’s “Road Rules.” She’s been an entertainment correspondent for “American Journal,” a syndicated magazine show, a FOX News Channel correspondent for “Fox Files,” “The Pulse,” and host of weekly magazine series “Fox Rules with Kit Hoover.”
Oh, and would you look at that, she used to work at FOX. Why am I not surprised by that?
And just for giggles, here’s Woody’s Bio:
WOODY PAIGE, Host (1st and 10):
Woody Paige, a native of Memphis, began is career as a sports columnist in with The Whitehaven Press in 1963 after graduating from the University of Tennessee. He later went on to cover politics for The Knoxville Journal and civil rights for The Memphis Commercial Appeal and The Rocky Mountain News. Paige joined The Denver Post in 1981. Over his thirty-five year career, Paige has covered sporting events in over 22 countries. His resume includes 27 Super Bowls, 12 Summer & Winter Olympics, over 18 World Championship Fights, as well as the World Series and the NBA & Stanley Cup Finals
