I’ll admit it. Slap “new and improved” on it and I might buy it. Make your chips a funny color and I’m almost certain to buy them, especially if you sell them as “2 for X dollars,” even if I don’t even need one. I bought so much green and purple ketchup that Teresa called me presonally. Throw something Star Wars into your Doritios, and I will definitely buy it.
So, as much as I hate to believe it, Pepsi has me firmly by the unmentionables. As much as I destest the stuff, they’ve got me buying it. When Episode 1 came out, I had to have the Amidala 2 Liter bottle (I still have it in fact, I put my spare change in it). I got a few free songs the last time Pepsi had this promotion, and it was pretty cool. This year I’ve gone off the deep end. At the beginning of the week, I had two free songs from people I work with. This week, I’ve acquired 7 more…all self generated. I’ve actually started trolling the cafeteria to see when they restock,I don’t know what I want to get, but I just know that I need more free songs. It really is sad that this kind of compulsion will get me to drink Pepsi, but it will.
Hopefully this promotion will end soon, so that I can go back to coke. This drive for songs can’t be good. Curse you Pepsi for knowing my weak spot, curse you…and please don’t have a promotion where I can win free Episode 3 tickets…that could be the end of me.
