So, as my music evolution continues, I figured I’d let you all in on what I call the last of the music dynasties. The Marsalis family has 5 professional musicians across two generations, and Ellis (father), Branford (eldest son) and Wynton (second son) have 3 multiple Grammy award winning albums between them. Plus Wynton was the founding Musical Director and President of the Jazz @ Lincoln Center that I mentioned here earlier. Wynton and Ellis performed music from Peanuts as a tribute to Charles Schultz. While Branford was both the musical director for Sting and for the Tonight Show Band when Jay Leno (a huge Jazz fan) first started.

Oh, and the two younger brothers play drums and trombone (YEAH, BABY) professionally as well. Truly a dynasty that may not be matched any time soon or possible ever.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Oh, and congratulate Dan when you get the chance too…he’ll tell you why when you do.
