It’s an interesting story and one that most gamers will run into in any online gaming experience. The article touches upon the longer history of this.. this has been a problem since people could play against each other online. Anonymity combined with zero meaningful consequences allows dishonorable people to do whatever they want. I’ve run into folks like this in every game I’ve played online, from Quake to SOCOM to Warcraft III to ESPN NFL 2K4. It’s an interesting problem so much so that people are now using it to study human behavior.
