A good article in the Washington Post today runs down the power of porn in the GOP and red states. It seems pretty important to acknowledge that while “values” may have been important in this election, the values were about gay marriage and abortion and little else. Everything else is laced with hypocrisy.

Seriously, this video is pretty much the ideal response to the whole thing. McCain’s campaign ought to be embarrassed, and the rest of us can laugh at both his campaign and Paris’s response.
(of course it is Paris Hilton, and she gets the details of the energy policy wrong… drilling wouldn’t carry us over because it would take 5-10 years before any of that oil actually entered the market)

You know, my friends and I were actually commenting on this on our drive down to Charleston for Thanksgiving. I cannot count the number of billboards we saw for “adult superstores” along I-95 (at least one of them was almost as ubiquitous as South of the Border).

The first billboard you see when you cross the Hartford City line coming from the airport is for Erotic Empire. Yeah, we’re one of the bluest states, but still, you have to admit that’s funny.
I wonder how Stern does in non-urban markets and in red states… I can’t imagine that he does too well, but then again I don’t really like Stern anyway…
