You will shortly see a new author on FatMixx, mostly about baseball. He’s a co-worker here at ESPN.com. I’ve been giving him a hard time about being added, in part because he’s the first co-worker to post here but mostly because he’s easy to make fun of.

Some of you are probably wondering why I’m bringing this up, as I rarely mention new authors on FatMixx. I’m mentioning it because I think the roster of writers is getting large and a bit unwieldy. It hasn’t been an issue yet, as it seems I’m the only one that posts regularly. The thing is that I don’t think of this as primarily “my” space. The value in it has been the breadth of contributions, not so much my blathering about whatever strikes my fancy.

So, I’m open to suggestions or opinions on how new writers make it here… Do you have friends you guys want posting here (and I direct this at the current authors, obviously)? Do you even care about this? Do we need to run something like Slash with a submission queue?

I’m not planning on changing anything now unless we have either consensus or a good idea. I just thought I would bring this up so I can figure out if you all care.

Also, I still need blurbs for the new About page. New guys, especially.
