Bram, you’re too old, right? My sister isn’t. This isn’t funny.
Draft Plans for Health Workers
Despite President Bush’s pledge during the campaign, the Wall Street Journal reports the Selective Service System “is reviewing a plan for drafting doctors, nurses and other health professionals, causing concern at the American Medical Association.”
“If authorized, about 36,000 health-care workers could be selected from 60 specialties, including anesthesiology, mental health, emergency medicine and neurology. Akin to a general conscription, selection would start with the youngest registrants.”

I believe doctors can be drafted until around age 50. Most doctors don’t finish residency until they are 28-32.

Duh, my bad… didn’t think about that. I’ve been reading some more… this may just be precautionary planning, not an actual proposal…

They just did call up a 70 year old retired doctor to combat zone duty.
