You know how people always say that porn companies are among the leaders in technology on the web… big market, big demand, ideal distribution (the Internet)? Well, I just found something that would at least support some of that. I’m sitting here downloading the java-based XML-RPC library from the Apache project and I get as my “best choice” mirror… mirrors.playboy.com.

Playboy.com runs an open source mirror?! If you look, they have FreeBSD, Apache, mod_ssl, CPAN, and Fedora core coming. They are official mirrors for most of those projects.

Giving back to the community… I like that, Playboy (and Tim and the rest of the “resident nerds”). Keep up the good work.
