Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.

Amazing catch by Mueller. His second snag of a cannonball line drive tonight. The guy on second was running on the play, and ran right into Mueller’s tag. Double play.

I managed to stay up untill the last inning, at which point I passed out on the couch…. that sucked, missed the winning strike-out.

I had fun watching, but I realized that my posts have absolutely no context. On the other hand, neither does most of what I say!

My favorite moment in Game 3 so far is when Fox interviewed Keith Tkachuk, the best player on the St Louis hockey team. He’s setting in great seats, completely dressed in Red Sox apparel. He’s from Boston, and he was gushing over the game, the opportunity. The guys behind Tkachuk heckled him the whole interview.

So Game 3 is what happens when the Red Sox actually catch the ball.
And Jish, I take back every mean think I said about Pedro last night over IM.
