Seriously, I’m so freaking happy right now, I don’t know what to do… I want to run upstairs and wake Heidi, but she’ll kill me for waking her up for a baseball game, even this one. I want to cry, stand up and scream, and go run laps all at the same time. Thank you, Red Sox, thank you so very much. Now let’s win 4 more and end this stupid curse talk once and for all.
I’m no long-suffering Red Sox fan. My love for the Sox is new by the standards of the curse. 7 years ago, I moved up to Boston. 6 years ago ( I think ), I went to my first game at Fenway. It’s magic, that place. I’m just speechless. Speechless.
To me, this is as big as winning the World Series. I was there when the Derek Jeter Yankees advanced to their first World Series, in the stands with a stunned Baltimore crowd as the Yankees took the pennant in Camden Yards. The Yankee rivalry fit naturally with me and combined with the magic of Fenway, the lore of the team, and the passion of the fans… I have my new home team.
Whatever they do in the World Series, this team has my respect and my admiration. Keep having fun and bring on the Cardinals (or Astros, but probably the Cardinals)!

Thanks, Darlin’ for not waking me too much, though I am glad the Sox won. And oh man, are the kids trying to use the games as an excuse for not doing homework… Lucky those kids have a somewhat understanding teacher. When I asked a kid if he finished reading the book as he was supposed to — he let out the knee-jerk response: “Yeah.”
“You did?” I said.
“Oh wait, most of it. I did most of it.” I tell ya, those kids are lucky they are so darn cute, with the sleepy little eyes from stying up too late watching BASEBALL.
Even the headmaster at assembly this morning started a very serious lecture, serious tone, etc, and went into, “We need to reflect on the events of last night…” Kids went wild. The he actually did go into a serious lecture. The kids didn’t go wild for that.
