Now, in my capacity as vice president, I am the president of Senate, the presiding officer. I’m up in the Senate most Tuesdays when they’re in session.
The first time I ever met you was when you walked on the stage tonight.
Why would you even lie about that? And, if you can’t remember meeting someone, why would you say it on national TV when there were better ways to make that point.

What is also interesting is that Dick Cheney’s line about being at the senete on Tuesdays isn’t quite accurate either. He rarely actually presides over the senate. What he does on Tuesdays is attend the Republican Party policy lunch. I wouldn’t expect him to run into John Edwards there.

yeah, that again reinforces my original point… it’s not “interesting…” it makes absolutely no sense. Did he not expect to be called on this stuff the next day?
