Keep an eye out for Born Into Brothels, an excellent documentary about what happens when a photographer moves into a seedy brothel in Calcutta and gives a handful of kids cameras and photography lessons. It’s amazing to see what they find that’s photogenic, or what becomes photogenic, in their eyes. The film is full of heartbreaking lines from the kids, as savvy film aficionado Bindu will attest, but overall it’s a powerful and thought-provoking experience.
