Nellie McKay already has a song recorded about John Kerry. Interesting side note, the song was originally called Mickey Mouse until a certain company stepped in and said, uh, you can’t call it Mickey Mouse. So, it’s now called john-john. If you go through the lyrics below and replace john-john with Mickey Mouse, it kinda changes the tone a bit. This song, btw, is not on the album but was recorded for NPR’s All Songs Considered. She’s performing at the Williamsburg Jazz Festival this Friday and I really, really want to go. Not sure if I can swing tickets, but I might have to beg a few friends in NYC to help out.
I’m in a really mellow musical mood lately… just went through iTMS and picked up half the soundtrack from Garden State (which was a really good movie, btw), including Nick Drake, Frou Frou, Thievery Corporation, and some others. Burning the CD for the car tomorrow right now.
