I know that different people have different opinions on capital punishment. Most of you know that I’m opposed to capital punishment because our justice system is provably imperfect… you can’t fix death. Well, just like most of these kind of debates, I hope that this example from China gives us some common ground, specifically that financial fraud shouldn’t lead to executions. Crazy world we live in…

Ask the employees of Enron and Anderson Consulting what they would want to happen to the executives after their mismanagement and illegal acts ruined the employees’ livelyhood and decimated their retirement saving. I bet death might be getting off easy.
Maybe stiffer penalties for white collar crimes would make fewer of them happen.

I still like the Bowling For Columbine idea of making the chasing down/arresting of white collar criminals a show like Cops… where they wind up taking their shirt off half way through the chase or something.
