Cause they just got spanked by the Indians…. The score as of Mid 9th is 22-0. Seriously. Yes, those Indians. From Cleveland. The .500, 7 games out of first Indians.
Update: Man, that’s painful… this rivalry is pretty important to Indians fans, who love the Yankees about as much as the Red Sox fans do… like most things about Cleveland, they just don’t get the hype. Of course, the Yankees being duly embarrassed will now rattle off 13 wins in a row.

I was in the upper bleachers last night, the $12 seats where you can’t see any of the scoreboards. Midway through the game (Sox up 6-0) I checked the score on my phone: 12-0. The news rippled through the stands like The Wave. A few innings later, a guy in the middle hollers that it’s 15-0, and everyone in his neighborhood applauds. Then the guy with the “Remdawg is God” sign scrawls “Yankees losing 15-0″ on the back of his sign. He hustles back and makes it 16-0. Lots of fun.
