More in my quest to find you, our noble reader, the esoteric: Word counts from the Bush campaigns extended policy briefs: Count em up here:
The most interesting finding was that the word “Bush” appeared 90 times while the word “Kerry” appeared 142 times (out of around 21,000 words total).
The other counts are more interesting, I think, since they actually have to do with policy.

Any interesting side note to go with your word count… Back in 1999, there was a local mayoral race where neither candidate was the incumbant. One of the candidates did a local TV ad where he said a Vote for Madden is a vote for this and a vote for madden is a vote for that…
He mentioned his opponent like 8 times in 30 seconds, saying all of the bad things his opponent will do if elected and only mentioned his own name twice.
To make the very long story short… Madden was elected Mayor. So many people had seen the commercial multiple times and heard his name 8 times each that the name recognition became second nature! (and another interesting side note– he did almost exactly what the other candidate said he was going to do… )

I know this is the wrong place to post this link… maybe you want to reintroduce in a new post.
Congress.org is running a continual “pledge your vote 2004″ poll… obviously the numbers are small in most places… interesting to see the graph over the past two months…

interestingly they don’t seem to have a place for Nader to see what kind of impact his candidacy makes either way…
Also interesting, is the states where each candidate seems to have a stronghold…
I didn’t sign up because I know I will get constant SPAM mail… and I wonder how many others feel the same way… it would be nice if they had some way to post a margin of error in their result tracking….

Actually I signed up a while ago and they haven’t spamed me. I like the map too and I can change my vote is I want. Pretty neat idea.

Ok, there must be a link to the website on the Freepers page. Read some of the comments in the “Soapbox” column. The one at the top had these lovely sentiments to share:
We, the American people, have been invaded by hoardes of non-English speaking, unskilled, uneducated illegals immigrants and our elected officials seem determined to either keep their heads in the sand (or somewhere else) or are now lobbyists for the Mexican Government and Vincente Fox.
