Hartford is Tier 3, at best. But don’t worry. So is Philly.
Tier 1 is exclusively made up of world-class cities, like New York and Chicago. Maybe LA, Miami, SF.
Tier 2 is the best of America. Boston, DC, the three maybes above. Slightly lower are Seattle, New Orleans, Charlotte, that sort of place.
Tier 3 is the next rung. Philadelphia. Hartford. Cleveland. You see where I’m going with this…cities, but you can’t imagine moving there if you don’t have a dream job (at ESPN, for instance).

I don’t think I want to know where Detroit ranks….

You can only imagine that if I put Cleveland in Tier 3, that there’s a special place for Detroit. Let’s put it this way: adding the two of you made Detroit a much more livable area. But the city itself….still a wash

Speaking of Detroit Tamar, in homage to you two I had to watch 8 Mile
Can’t say I loved it, but it was “ok”

Bram and I actually live off the much more desireable Nine Mile.
I have to rent 8 Mile now that I live here.

I thought my dad was way cool when he said that he lived off 8 Mile growing up, but then I found out he grew up west of where 8 Mile was tough. The Jews of 8 Mile are not neaerly as scary as the acting in that movie. Try to spot the rappers. See if you can figure out which of the guys are actors playing rappers, and which are rappers pretending to be actors. Good times.

Detroit is tier 1…or we’ll shoot you and break your froo froo foreign car.

I got ID’d to see 8 Mile at the theatre. Apparently I look 16.

HA!!! I don’t know what is more amusing, Bram’s comment or Heidi’s. either way is a funny end to a nice evening.

I’d like to get my hands on some of the crack you were smoking when you put Philadelphia in the same tier as Hartford.
July 6th, 2004 at 12:23 AM
and the funny thing is that you both are Philadelphians, at least as far as sports are concerned

Yeah, I’m from Philly. Nobody would move there unless they had a job lined up. Same with Hartford. The top 2 tiers, people would actively seek a way to live there.
