Their show True Life just did an episode on gay marriage, following a gay couple and a lesbian couple as they went through the process of getting a marriage license and wedding in Cambridge the day that licenses were legally available in Massachusetts. I watched it and was overwhelmed with happiness. With all the horror and tragedy in the world today, to see people enjoying such extraordinary happiness was just incredible. I see myself and Heidi in some of their stories and one day I hope that we can enjoy the same happiness they have. I also was overwhelmed by the reaction of the Cambridge and Boston residents turning out to support the couples. This represents Cambridge at its finest, a city so supportive and community oriented as to put nearly any small town to shame. I miss living in Boston and being in this type of environment. Northampton is very similar, though, and West Hartford feels like it’s on the right track. Heidi and I moving here can only make it better.
