Finally trying to get some utility out of my Netflix account. I’ve had the same 3 movies for like 5 months now, costing me something like $100.00. Pretty hefty for 3 movies. Well, the first movie, Formula 51, sucked balls. Terribly. It could’ve been funny like Lock Stock, but ends up being just corny.

Newsweek’s Daniel Gross explains the Consumer Price Index (here’s the official BLS site) in a very simple video. I could do without the goofy sound effects, but it’s a good, 2 minute explanation of how the government tracks inflation.
Per David Simon’s Berkeley talk, though, the video doesn’t go into why this matters. Perhaps they’ll cover that in the next installment of the Economics 101 series.

I did the Blockbuster version ($24.95/month). In the last week, I rented 12 movies. It may slow down though (I really need TiVo).

speaking of which darling, what do you think of getting the first season of The West Wing? All for Josh’s sake, of course….
