AZ Central is carrying the Washingtonienne story. They have quotes from the staff of Sen. Mike DeWine:

The blog’s existence was first reported in Wonkette.com, an inside-the-Beltway blog itself.

“All I can tell you is someone brought it to our attention, and we’re looking into it,” said DeWine’s communications director, Mike Dawson.

Asked if the employee had been fired, Dawson said, “Not yet.”

Amanda Flaig, spokeswoman for DeWine, R-Ohio, said the office was handling business as usual.

“I’m taking calls about Great Lakes, about gas taxes,” she said.

The exploits described in the blog might not be true. The last entry was Tuesday: “I just took a long lunch with X and made a quick $400. When I returned to the office, I heard that my boss was asking about my whereabouts. Loser.”

The more I read, the more I’m really hoping this is all a big joke. Nothing good will come of it once it breaks.
