I’m at the local Barnes & Noble today in the Middle East history section and run across these two titles:
No, these aren’t jokes… I saw these in the World History: Mid. East section of the Barnes and Noble.
I’m back (have been for a day now) but had too much to do today to do anything useful.
I finished Clarke’s book (Against All Enemies) over the vacation (sitting by the pool) and I’ll have much more to post about this. The book store trip today was a result of reading the book, as I’m now looking for much more information about the Middle East region and politics. I picked up 3 histories on the Mid East today (Friedman’s From Beirut to Jerusalem, Bernard Lewis’s The Middle East, and Gettleman and Schaar’s The Middle East and Islamic World Reader). I also have yet to finish Oren’s Six Days of War. I also picked up Woodward’s new book (Plan of Attack) and John W. Dean’s Worse than Watergate.
I need another vacation to read these books. ![]()

Yeah, Heidi and I were at Disneyworld for the past week. Too many kids…
but the “Cast Member” discount was pretty nice.

Did you get VIP access? How was the technology that kept you from waiting in line?

Welcome back. From Beirut to Jerusalem was my favorite book of 2001. It is one of the deepest books I’d read (no comments about the comics, please) on the topic up until that point.
