65 KM winds? Chance of a complete whiteout? Freezing temps? What are we waiting for?
I’m sitting at a ski lodge at the base of Mt. Doom fom Lord of the rings. By total chance, Mt. Doom is near our destination for today. We’re hiking a very popular one day track in Tongariro National Park tomorrow if weather permits. I’ll have photos and stuff later, but I thought it was cool enough to pass on that we’re at Mt. Doom and Emyn Muil, the barren plains. You can see an overview here.

I thought Mt Doom was surrounded by barren lands and was spewing lava??? They cannot have cleaned up that natural disaster that fast!!! I think Sural would love it if you followed her around and called her “my precious” in the golumn voice while hiking. That would be a lot of fun.

That’s odd. I don’t see the Eye of Sauron anywhere.
